Is Viktor Gyokeres struggling at Arsenal? After a £65 million move from Sporting CP, the Swedish striker has only scored four Premier League goals. Can he adapt or is he heading for flop status?

When Arsenal invested £65 million to sign Gyokeres from Sporting CP, fans expected a prolific striker ready to dominate the Premier League. Gyokeres arrived with a stellar record in Portugal, where his explosive pace and physicality helped Sporting clinch two consecutive Primeira Liga title, an achievement unseen for years.

Why is Gyokeres struggling in England?

Unlike the Portuguese league, the Premier League is packed with towering, athletic defenders who have neutralized Gyokeres’ physical advantage. His trademark runs and strength haven’t translated into dominance.

His poor performance against Wolves triggered a storm of criticism, despite Mikel Arteta defending him publicly, claiming the team isn’t providing him with the right service.

What’s next for Arsenal’s £65 million man?

With Gabriel Jesus waiting for his chance, Gyokeres risks losing his starting spot. Arsenal fans are divided: some believe he needs time to adapt, others fear he’s heading toward Premier League flop status. The January transfer window looms.

Will Arsenal stick with Gyokeres or look for alternatives? It’s too early to write off Gyokeres completely. Adaptation periods vary, and with Arteta’s backing, he still has a chance to prove his worth. But time is running out, and the pressure is mounting.
