PSG Rack Up Multiple Awards, with Dembele Winning the Big One
Ousmane Dembele has won the Union National des Footballeurs Professionnels (UNFP) award for Ligue 1‘s best player for the 2024-25 season. A major first for the Paris Saint-Germain forward, who has enjoyed an exceptional season — the best of his career — in the colours of the Parisian club. Since 2013, Dembele is the 12th Rouge et Bleu laureate, whose hegemony over the period has only been challenged by Alexandre Lacazette (Lyon), who scooped the award in 2015.
Decisive on 46 occasions (33 goals, 13 assists) in 46 games played across all competitions, the 27-year-old played a key role in PSG’s conquest of their 13th title — their fourth in a row. A top-class campaign that the French international (55 caps, seven goals) could magnify with a Champions League victory, another French Cup and a Ligue 1 top scorer’s trophy.
Luis Enrique Named Best Coach, Desire Doue Top Young Talent
Luis Enrique, Paris Saint-Germain’s coach, was voted Ligue 1’s best coach of the season, while Desire Doue, who arrived in the French capital last summer, was awarded the prize for the best young player.
An accolade accompanied by a place in the league’s first-choice team, which the 19-year-old made up alongside eight of his team-mates. Additionally, Rayan Cherki (Lyon) and Lucas Chevalier (Lille), who won the Best Goalkeeper award, complete this XI.
