Paris Saint-Germain ended their exceptional 2024-25 season on a somewhat sour note. Beaten 3-0 by Europa Conference League winners Chelsea in the final of the Club World Cup on Sunday, the French club will nonetheless have something to console itself with.

A cheque for around €90m should help.

This sum, estimated by The Athletic, corresponds to the cumulative total of two categories of earnings. The first, inherent in their mere participation in the competition, had already ensured that the reigning European champions received a ticket worth €26.8m. The second, based on performance, enabled them to secure another €64.7m.

Details of PSG’s Club World Cup earnings

After defeating Atletico Madrid and Seattle Sounders in the first round and progressing to the last 16 of the competition, Paris Saint-Germain added €10.06m to their prize fund even before facing Inter Miami.

Subsequent wins over Bayern Munich and Real Madrid added a further €29.85m to their coffers. This was slightly more than the €26.24m they earned as runners-up.

Chelsea, for their part, left the United States with an extra €98m in their treasury. As a reminder, the prize money for the competition was €874,565m.
