From England to France via Spain’s La Liga, all transfer windows for the “Big Five” are now closed. In other words, clubs are no longer able to purchase players — some may still sign free agents..
However, this does not mean that the teams in these major leagues are guaranteed to retain their entire squads. At least, not yet. That’s because some transfer markets are still open for a few more days… or even weeks.
Here, Sports Talk United takes a look at the announced deadlines for these markets.
Which transfer windows are still open?
While the Dutch market closed on Tuesday 2nd September, the Belgian one will remain open until the 8th September, according to FIFA.
Two weeks later, it will be the turn of Saudi clubs to finalise their last deals, which could hold a few surprises. Their Turkish (12 September), Portuguese (15 September) and Qatari (16 September) counterparts also have a few extra days to try to strengthen their squads.
