Palmer Leads The Way In Chelsea Win Over PSG

2025 FIFA Club World Cup final results shocked the world. Chelsea delivered a surprising and decisive victory over Paris Saint-Germain. They dominated the game from the beginning to the end.

Chelsea won 3-0, with all three goals scored in the first half. Cole Palmer scored two goals with one assist. João Pedro added the third goal for Chelsea. PSG’s performance was poor throughout. It was shocking as it struggled to create scoring opportunities. In contrast, Chelsea’s counterattacks were highlighted as phenomenal. PSG’s frustrations culminated with João Neves being sent off for pulling Marc Cucurella’s hair late in the game.

This win marks Chelsea’s second Club World Cup title, with their first coming in 2021. The match unfolded at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Chelsea’s dominant performance left PSG appearing outmatched and overwhelmed.

Skirmish Breaks Out During Match and Picked Up After Match As Well

Chelsea coach, Enzo Maresca, noted that PSG’s slow start. He said “it’s complicated to come back in the game” after their initial struggles.

PSG manager Luis Enrique and goalkeeper Gigi Donnarumma reportedly showed their frustration after the match. Both player and manager confronted Chelsea players. Gigi placing his hands on Joao Pedro’s neck, needing to be cooled down after a confrontation.

The FIFA Club World Cup trophy was prominently displayed and cared for by President Trump and FIFA President Gianni Infantino. President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were in attendance at the game one year to the day after an assassination attempt on his life.

This victory represents a significant triumph for Chelsea, especially considering they entered the tournament as underdogs against the strong PSG side. Chelsea’s tactical approach and strong execution resulted in a memorable Club World Cup title, while PSG’s performance left them looking significantly less dominant than they have shown this year.

During the match both team’s players were showing signs of fatigue. The high temperature in the stadium caused considerable muscle cramping and player exhaustion. The players were pushed to their limits by the heat in the stadium.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino said stadiums with roofs will be used to ease concerns over severe weather at the 2026 Men’s World Cup.
