Ligue 1 has unveiled its schedule for the opening day of the 2025-26 season. Reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain travel to FC Nantes to kick off their quest for another title defence. The question remains, however, as to when the Champions League winners will launch their campaign.
Currently engaged in the Club World Cup, Les Parisiens have reportedly asked the League to reschedule their first match to a later date following their interminable season. A favour that will not be granted to Olympique de Marseille, who will travel to Roazhon Park to take on Stade Rennais.
Olympique Lyonnais, whose future in Ligue 1 is more uncertain than ever following the announcement of their demotion to Ligue 2, have nonetheless been included in the opening day fixture list (pending the outcome of their appeal). And it is Pierre Sage, their former coach, that Les Gones would meet on the first round of fixtures in a clash with RC Lens.
Paris FC, Lorient and FC Metz, all three promoted sides, are also fixed, with games against Angers, Auxerre and Strasbourg respectively.
