Bayern Munich has officially announced the arrival of Luis Diaz from Liverpool.
The 28-year-old winger has signed a four-year contract as part of a transfer estimated at €75 million — the third highest fee in Bayern history. He becomes the fifth player to leave the club this summer.
In search of offensive reinforcements since the start of the transfer window, the reigning German champions have finally found what they were looking for in the Colombian. And if Diaz was not the Bavarian management’s initial target, the latter has never hidden its admiration for him.
Boasting a versatile profile that allows him to play in various attacking positions, the former FC Porto player is seen as a major addition to Vincent Kompany’s squad.
Since arriving on the banks of the Mersey in January 2022, Diaz has been an important part of the Liverpool club, scoring 41 goals and providing 23 assists in 148 appearances in all competitions.
Used 36 times in the Premier League last season, the Barrancas native found the back of the net 13 times to help the Reds win their 20th English league title.
