Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the appointment of Igor Tudor as interim manager until the end of the season.
The 47-year-old coach, who was dismissed by Juventus last October for lack of results, replaces Thomas Franck, fired eight months after taking charge of Spurs.
The Dane, arriving last June after a successful spell at Brentford (2018-2025), never fully managed to win over the critics, winning only 13 of the 38 matches he managed in North London. Although he managed to qualify his team automatically for the Champions League round of 16, finishing fourth in the table, Frank’s record in the league is much less impressive, with Spurs in 16th place, just five points above the relegation zone.
Tudor will therefore have the difficult task of turning things around and helping Tottenham climb the standings. The former Juventus centre-back began his coaching career in 2013, taking charge of Hajduk Split, the club where he came up through the ranks. After that, he had stints at PAOK, Karabükspor, Galatasaray, and Udinese before joining Juventus as Andrea Pirlo’s assistant. Leaving at the end of the 2020-21 season, he then managed Hellas Verona, Olympique de Marseille, and Lazio before finally returning to the Bianconeri, as head coach this time.
