Manchester City‘s Rayan Cherki donated €80,000 to ZEvent this weekend.
Created by Adrien Nougaret and Alexandre Dachary and held annually since 2016, this charity marathon brings together multiple French-speaking streamers to raise funds for various associations. As part of this ninth edition, which took place from Friday 5 to Monday 8 September, no fewer than eight charities were represented, including the French Caregivers Association, the League Against Cancer and Smile at Life.
During more than 50 hours of live streaming, numerous content creators broadcasted on their respective Twitch channels, offering their viewers a range of entertainment (video games, quizzes, challenges, etc.) while encouraging them to make donations.
In total, more than €16 million (€16,179,096) were raised during the event, significantly surpassing the 2022 record of €10,182,126.
Cherki, who distinguished himself with his generous donation, was not the only football personality to take part in the weekend’s event. Through a raffle, streamer Zack Nani, whose content focuses mainly on sport, was able to obtain numerous signed shirts from players, which he then gave away to donors via a draw. Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, Karim Benzema, Malo Gusto and Eden Hazard (to name but a few) all took part in the initiative.
