Jonathan Rowe and Adrien Rabiot have both been temporarily sidelined from the OM first team.
As revealed by RMC Sport, this decision comes following an altercation between the two players after Olympique de Marseille’s defeat at Stade Rennais (1-0). In a tense post-match atmosphere, Rowe and Rabiot reportedly got into a heated argument in the dressing room, ending up face to face.
Roberto De Zerbi and Mehdi Benatia, the club’s director of football, subsequently attempted to calm things down. An attitude condemned by Marseille’s management, who reportedly decided to take strong action while sending a message to the rest of the squad.
Although their exclusion is expected to be short-lived, no return date has been announced at this time. This situation could mean that the two men, who were starters at Rhoazon Park on Friday, will miss Paris FC‘s visit next Saturday.
Rowe, whose name has recently been linked with a transfer to Roma or Bologna, might therefore have played his last minutes for OM. Transferred from Norwich City in the summer of 2024, the English winger played 31 matches for the Phocaean club, scoring three goals and providing four assists.
